I raise Blue and Black Flemish as well as a few Steels that pop up in the mix. Thanks to Juan and Cathy I have some nice lines in my breeding program.
Flemish are a large Breed reach up to 13+ pounds in bucks and 14+ pounds in Does. Flemish are known as the gentle giants and are very good with kids and other animals. Flemish being so large should be on solid flooring instead of Wire flooring because they are prone to sore hocks and without seeking medical help or preventing it it could lead to death.
Flemish come in 7 varieties (Colors) Black, Blue, Fawn, Light Grey, Sandy, Steel and White. With Blue being the rarest. Black being hard to keep the jet black coloring the standard asks for. Blue are to be bred to blues out of black and black lines only of true blacks out of Blue and black only. Blues are not recomened and should not be bred to and agouti or ticked color. I work mostly with true blacks.Blacks out of blue lines should be used in a blue program or a program where black is the only color in the lines. Black out of steel lines can be bred to steel and light gray as well as to blacks out of these colors. If the black carries white strong (not recommended unless using for a white or possible used for a light gray program black can be bred to white.
